LG Announces World's First Smartphone Supports Hand-Held Fingerprint

LG announced on Sunday its participation in the Mobile World Congress MWC 2019 in Barcelona, Spain to its first phone supports the fifth generation networks, "LG 5050 Think 5g" LG with its secondary screen, the two other phones, "El LG G8 ThinQ and LG G8s ThinQ.

The company said in a publication on its blog that the technique of fingerprint recognition "safer than fingerprint recognition technology, and identify the fingerprint of the hand by recognizing the shape and thickness and other individual characteristics of the veins in the palm of the hand. Simply putting a hand pre-recorded in front of the front camera for a fraction of a second is all it takes to open the LG G8 ThinQ and all its contents. The new LG G8 ThinQ offers a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels with 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, 6 GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 2TB.


The phone, which comes in a thickness of 8.4 mm and weighs 167 grams, Qualcomm processor Snafragragon 855, in addition to a battery capacity of 3,500 mAh. It works with Google's Android 9 operating system.

The LG G8 ThinQ has three 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras with an f / 1.5 lens slot, 16-megapixel resolution for the 107-degree wide angle camera with an f / 1.9 lens slot, and the third is 12 megapixels for depth photography with an f / 2.4 lens slot. The front camera comes with 8 megapixels with an f / 1.7 lens slot, along with a Z camera that acts as a fingerprint sensor.

The phone also offers a number of other features, including fingerprint sensor on the back, Bluetooth 5, NFC, USB-C, and voice technologies such as the Boombox Speaker + Crystal Sound OLED Stereo Speaker, 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, and DTS: X 3D Surround Sound.

Along with the LG G8 ThinQ, LG announced another version of the phone with lower specifications targeting users who can not afford to buy the LG G8 ThinQ.

Although the LG G8s ThinQ does not offer the same specifications as the LG G8 ThinQ, it retains its most prominent features: the hand-held fingerprint scan, the latest Qualcomm smartphone, the Snapdragon 855, and the three rear cameras, which come with 13 megapixels instead of 16 megapixels.

The phone offers a 6.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2248 × 1080 with 18.7: 9 aspect ratio and a 3550 mAh battery.

LG did not disclose the price set for the LG G8 ThinQ and LG G8s ThinQ but said it would be put up for sale in the coming months.
